Gamma plugs or sometimes called x-ray plugs are typically available in A105, F11, F22, F91, F92, stainless or a full range of other specified materials. Gamma plugs or what are often referred as access hole plugs or again X-Ray plugs are inserted, and seal welded to close access holes used for the radiographic inspection of pipe butt welds. The site where the radiographic source is located on the inside of the pipe is the point of interest in this regard. This type of plug is manufactured in accordance with PFI ES-16.
